Responsibilities

SUMMARY

We are seeking a proactive Project Manager to oversee mechanical construction projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of assigned projects while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participate and contribute to all aspects of projects including estimating and the generation of proposals as well as coordination of each job (purchasing, tool-crib, kick-off meetings, site specific safety plans, shop fabrication, etc.)
  • Maintain coordination of documentation procedures among the appropriate parties such as the owner, customer, sub-contractors, and shop or field services.
  • Proactively work to grow and expand customer relationships and identify opportunities with both new and existing customers.
  • Accountable for the profitability of assigned projects
  • Visit job sites on a regular basis to properly monitor job progress and to reinforce company policies and procedures, specifically safety
  • Coordinate with appropriate team members in order to manage the project budget, cost accounting, forecast and cost control measures in order to accurately forecast percent complete and job profitability during the billing process.
  • Manage and review all change order requests or Additional Work Authorizations
  • Ensure that all local union staffing requests and reporting issues are addressed with Human Resources in a timely manner
  • Assist with verifying material charge outs, inventory, and organization/filing of paperwork.
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Analyze drawings, prints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material and labor estimates
  • Review estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
  • Work with appropriate internal departments to maintain current project files
  • Prepare documents for quotations from vendors
  • Attend all required job status meetings. Will also assist in the scheduling and follow-up required post meeting

Education Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent work experience and education

Experience Requirements

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a construction/industrial environment
  • AutoCad, Revit, and Navisworks experience a plus
  • Union and mechanical contracting experience a plus

Skills

  • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Timberline estimating, SalesForce, ProCore.
  • Must have excellent math and analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel)
